Kobe port at dusk

03 / Trade

The port is still quiet.

Chinese products into Japan, Japanese products into the United States. We have started drawing the lines, but there is no profit yet.

Status

In discussion. Pre-revenue.

Kobe is a port city. When Koetsu thinks about distribution, the map opens onto the East China Sea and the Pacific. What we are working on now is bringing products from China into Japan and exporting Japanese products to the United States.

We have been meeting with several companies. There are no confirmed contracts, no inventory and no ongoing sales yet. We do not intend to write this up as a growth story; to interested companies we share where things honestly stand.

What we are checking

  • Where responsibility for quality and inspection lies: the condition of what actually arrives, not the product on paper.
  • Lead times, minimum order quantities, and how returns and defects are handled.
  • Japanese regulations, labelling and import practice; the realities of sales channels in the US.
  • Partner names and detailed terms are not disclosed while discussions continue.

We cannot promise to start trading right away.
We are happy to listen.
