Bundling on Mercari Japan: Request or Buy Automatically?

Buying several items from one Mercari Japan seller? Distinguish a bundle request from automatic bundling, then check the final contents, price and packing before paying.

If one seller has both a figure and an accessory you want, check the bundling route before paying for either. Start by confirming that both listings belong to the same seller and looking at the purchase options currently displayed. Then compare the proposed order as a whole.

This article covers the official bundling features for Mercari’s individual seller listings. Check Mercari Shops carts and overseas warehouse consolidation through their own purchase screens or service guidance. Do not assume that similarly named combining options use the same steps or have the same scope.

Identify the route shown on the page

With a bundle request, you propose items and a price to one seller, then buy the combined listing created after acceptance. Sending the request and completing the purchase are separate steps.

With automatic bundling, the seller sets the conditions in advance and the buyer checks the displayed amount before purchasing. Follow that screen’s flow rather than assuming a separate manual acceptance is still required.

Recheck the contents before paying

Mercari states that a bundle request does not guarantee a purchase and the items remain publicly listed before acceptance. Treat the request as a proposal, then check the notification and current listing rather than assuming the goods have been reserved.

On the combined page, recheck quantities and accessories as well as names. For example, if you want one doll plus an outfit, make sure you have not selected two clothing-only listings with similar photos. A short item-by-item note can reveal that mistake before payment.

Check that the order contains what you need before judging the combined price. If keeping a character card or retail box matters, confirm that before purchase. A display prop in a photograph may not be part of the sale, even when several listings are being combined.

Read the seller’s note and packing conditions

Our individual seller profile, checked on September 17, 2026, invites bundle requests and discount enquiries for multiple items shipped together. That statement does not establish a fixed discount for every item or prove that automatic bundling is enabled. Check the actual offer displayed.

The official automatic-bundling guidance describes shipping the purchased items together in one package. When combining a boxed figure with a soft plush, ask about preserving the retail box and the intended protective packing. Those are concrete questions; the word bundle alone does not answer them.

For overseas orders, ask about the next stage

If using a proxy buyer, ask that service whether it can handle this particular bundling flow before submitting instructions. Domestic combined shipping, onward international consolidation and a lower international charge are separate questions. Ask for the arrangement that applies to your order rather than assuming one implies the others.

Before paying, bring the check back to three questions: which items and quantities, what final total, and what packing and delivery scope. For the distinction between domestic and overseas charges, see our guide to shipping-included listings.
