Changing a Mercari Japan Delivery Address After Purchase
A delivery-address change depends on whether you bought through personal Mercari or Shops, the dispatch stage and the shipping service. Follow the appropriate official route.
Written by Koetsu Co., Ltd.

If you notice an incorrect delivery address after buying, first identify the sales channel, whether dispatch has been notified and the shipping service. Personal Mercari transactions and Mercari Shops use different procedures even inside the same app. Options narrow as the transaction progresses, so open the specific order as soon as you notice the problem.
Your saved address and the transaction address are separate
Mercari’s guide for personal transactions says to update your saved address list and then the delivery address for each transaction in progress. Correcting an account setting does not necessarily repair an existing order. Open the particular purchase and inspect its delivery details.
For an unpaid personal Mercari transaction, the official guide directs the buyer to the “delivery address” field on the transaction screen. After payment, the same buyer-side edit is documented for Rakuraku, YuYu and Eco Mercari shipping before the dispatch notification. Check the controls shown for your actual order.
After dispatch, follow the shipping service’s rules
Once a personal Mercari order has a dispatch notification, the transaction screen no longer edits the address. For example, Nekopos does not allow an address change, while Yamato’s compact parcel and parcel services may involve a forwarding request and additional cash-on-delivery postage. YuYu and Eco Mercari have different contact routes. Do not treat all shipping labels as interchangeable.
For other shipping methods in a personal transaction, Mercari directs the buyer to discuss the address with the seller through transaction messages before dispatch. After dispatch, the carrier and service determine the next step. Do not post a private address in public comments or social media; use the official transaction and support channels.
Mercari Shops follows a different process
For a Mercari Shops order shipped by a non-Mercari service, the official guide says to request a change through “contact the shop” before dispatch. If it has shipped and tracking is available, the guide points to the carrier. What the shop can still do depends on the particular order and stage.
For Mercari Shops orders using Rakuraku or Cool Mercari shipping, the official guide says a pre-dispatch address edit is unavailable. It describes asking the shop to cancel and then purchasing again with the correct address. Neither cancellation nor availability for repurchase is guaranteed. Wait for the shop’s response before placing another order.
After a Shops order ships, Nekopos and Yamato parcels still differ. The guide says Nekopos cannot be redirected to a new address, while compact parcels and standard parcels can involve a direct Yamato request and extra postage charged on arrival. Identify the service and tracking number in the order before using the matching official instructions.
Before purchase, verify three details
| Detail | Where to look |
|---|---|
| Sales channel | Check whether the listing is personal or Shops |
| Shipping method | Inspect listing and checkout |
| Delivery address | Confirm before finalizing the order |
For our connected personal Mercari listings and Loop KOBE Shops, check the shipping terms of each item. The two storefronts do not share one universal address-change procedure or a blanket direct international shipping promise. If you use a proxy or forwarder abroad, also verify its Japanese receiving address and rules.

For an actual correction, identify whether the order is personal or Shops, determine its dispatch stage, and use the current personal transaction guide or Shops guide.
