ROYAL MOLLY DIDI-TO LOVE: Open Box, Sealed Inner Bag and a Flat-Shipped Box

A real DIDI-TO LOVE listing separates an opened outer box, sealed inner bag, character card and a flattened shipping box. What buyers should verify.

“Unopened” on a collectible listing can describe the inner bag rather than the whole retail package. That distinction matters if you keep boxes as part of a collection. A current ROYAL MOLLY DIDI-TO LOVE listing gives a concrete example: the seller describes the outer box as opened for character identification, while the bag holding the figure remains sealed.

Read the outer box, inner bag and card separately

The seller’s listing says “outer box opened, inner bag unopened.” The seller opened the box to identify the design. A buyer should therefore not expect a factory-sealed retail box. Nor does the description say the figure itself was taken out and photographed. Keep these two facts separate instead of compressing them into one “new” label.

The first actual listing photo shows a blue ROYAL MOLLY outer box, a card printed “DIDI-TO LOVE,” and the gold inner bag together. The card helps identify the named design; it is not a close-up of the physical figure inside the bag. A drawing on a character card cannot prove paint finish, tiny marks or assembly on an unseen item.

The seller explicitly says the sealed inner bag prevented direct inspection of the figure. Do not translate “sealed” into “every surface checked.” Separate what the photographs reveal from what remains concealed, then ask a focused question before buying if an unseen condition is decisive for you. The seller can explain the listing, but cannot photograph the figure without opening that bag.

A flattened shipping box changes the arrival format

This listing also says the outer box will be folded flat and included in the parcel. A sealed inner bag does not mean the box will arrive in display-ready form. If you collect intact retail boxes, think about fold lines, corners and reassembly before paying. The description makes the packing format material to the decision, not a footnote.

The seller says the figure will be protected with cushioning, but cushioning is not a promise that shipping damage is impossible. If an unfolded box is essential, ask before purchase whether a different packing method is available and whether postage would change. The seller is free to say the stated flattened-box method is the only option; do not assume a change has been agreed.

Text and labels on packaging can deform when an image is edited. The dark-background cover here is an aesthetic edit of the seller’s image, not evidence of authenticity or minute condition. For a label, enlarge the unedited detail and the original listing. Neither a printed code nor a photo by itself establishes an independent authenticity verdict from Koetsu.

Four checks before buying

Check four separate things: is DIDI-TO LOVE the design you want; is an opened outer box acceptable; do you understand that the sealed inner bag means no direct inspection of the figure; and can you accept a box shipped flat? That short checklist is more reliable than deciding from a single “unopened” phrase. Revisit the actual listing before payment because availability and terms can change.

If the figure is a gift or the box itself will be displayed, consider the recipient’s expectations. An unused figure with an opened, flattened box cannot be presented as a factory-sealed boxed gift. Someone who mainly wants the named design may make a different choice after understanding the condition. The right answer depends on use, not a universal ranking of packaging states.

Mercari’s buyer guidelines likewise ask buyers to review the description, condition and photos, and to ask about uncertainties before purchase. Koetsu is connected with this seller and edited the guide against its own listing. We do not guarantee live stock, delivery timing or unseen figure quality. An overseas buyer must separately check the chosen purchase route and destination-country support.
