McDonald's × FARMER BOB Figures: Telling Three Designs Apart and Reading "Box Opened, Figure Unused"

Figures from the McDonald's China × FARMER BOB collaboration. Using our own listing photos, we show how to tell HALLOWEEN, POTATO and SANDWICH BOB apart by the model number on the box, and what "box and inner bag opened, figure unused" means.

FARMER BOB is a character from FINDING UNICORN, a Chinese art toy brand. On 8 October 2024, McDonald's China announced a collaboration with FARMER BOB to mark its upgraded grilled chicken burger, with themed packaging, themed restaurants and a series of figures.

Our shop, Loop KOBE on Mercari Shops, lists three figures from this series: HALLOWEEN BOB, POTATO BOB and SANDWICH BOB. Using our own listing photos, this article shows how to tell them apart from the box and how to read the condition notes on the listings.

What McDonald's China announced

According to the McDonald's China announcement, the "FARMER BOB McDonald's Farm" series had four designs: one based on the new chicken burger, a chick-keeper, one inspired by restaurant crew, and a secret design to be revealed later. One design was released each week until 5 November, and buying a specified burger meal gave customers the chance to buy a figure.

This was a McDonald's China promotion; we have found no information that the figures were sold at McDonald's in Japan. The box labels are also written in Chinese.

Telling the three apart by model number

All three boxes show the figure's name in large letters on the front, but you can also check the model number on the label on the back. The boxes in our listing photos show the following.

Name on frontProduct name on back (Chinese)Model number
SANDWICH BOBBanshao BaobaoMT24100901
POTATO BOBShutiao XianshengMT24100903
HALLOWEEN BOBDaodan JueshiMT24100904

The back labels also show the brand FINDING UNICORN, the materials PVC and ABS, an age rating of 15 and over, a production date of 18 September 2024, and a joint-production credit for McDonald's, FINDING UNICORN and FARMER BOB. The announcement does not link its four designs to model numbers, so we only describe the three boxes we have in stock.

What "box and inner bag opened, figure unused" means

All three of our listings say the figure itself is unused, while the outer box and inner bag were opened to check the design. That means we opened the packaging to confirm what was inside, but the figure has not been displayed or played with.

For that reason we chose the condition "like new" (mishiyō ni chikai) rather than "new, unused". Mercari's seller guidelines describe "new, unused" as bought new and never used, and "like new" as used a few times with little sign of use. The condition grade alone does not tell you whether packaging has been opened, so read the description and photos together.

The listings ask buyers to check the box's condition in the photos. If dented corners, scuffs or tape marks matter to you, zoom in on the front, side and back photos before buying. For opened art toys in general, see our guide to art toy listings and condition.
