Private Room or Private Hire? Booking a Group Yakitori Dinner in Osaka
Planning a group yakitori dinner near Honmachi? Learn what to ask about a private room, exclusive use, seating, menu and booking confirmation before making plans.

When planning yakitori with friends or family in Osaka, start with the setting your group needs. Do you simply want to sit together, or do you need a room separated from other diners? Those are different requests, even when the number of guests is the same.
Use this guide as a planning note for dinner around Honmachi and Shinsaibashi. A photograph or a short private-room label can help you shortlist a restaurant. The useful next step is to get an answer for your date, party size and preferred arrangement.
Ask which space the booking covers
For a private room, ask which room would be assigned and whether everyone can sit together. If a door or the type of partition matters, say so. A request for a quiet space is less precise than explaining the arrangement your group actually needs.
For private hire, ask whether exclusive use covers the whole restaurant or a defined area. Request any minimum party size, minimum spend, time limit or menu conditions. Treat these as questions for the venue, not as terms that follow automatically from a private-hire label.
| Request | What to explain | What to confirm |
|---|---|---|
| Seats together | Party size and arrival time | Whether everyone shares one table |
| Private room | Partition and seating needs | Room capacity and conditions |
| Private hire | Purpose, headcount and budget range | Exclusive area and quoted terms |
Separate total seats from room capacity
The Yakitori Senkichi Minamikyuhoji page, checked on September 17, 2026, lists 28 seats and the availability of private rooms and private hire. The total seat count does not establish a room’s capacity or how many seats are free on your intended evening.
The page directs reservation enquiries to the contact route or the restaurant phone, 06-4256-3135. It does not publish room-by-room capacities or a minimum hire price. Give the restaurant your requirements when enquiring about the location at 3-2-15 Minamikyuhojimachi, Chuo-ku, Osaka.
Prepare one short booking note
Prepare the date, start time, guest count, budget range and room preference in one note. If children or bulky luggage affect seating, explain the ages and space needed. Ask about any equipment you need rather than assuming that child seats or storage will be available.
A useful example is: “○月○日の19時から6名で、同じテーブルの個室を希望しています。利用できますか。料理や料金の条件も教えてください。” This asks about a private room for six at 19:00 on a specified date, including menu and pricing terms. It is a sample enquiry, not a description of an available room.
For the offered arrangement, ask whether a set menu is required, whether à la carte ordering is possible, and what drinks or seating charges are included. Record the quoted conditions with the confirmed headcount before sharing a final budget with the rest of your group.
Record the confirmation, not just the enquiry
Sending a request does not by itself confirm a booking. Check the date, time, party size, assigned space and pricing terms in the restaurant’s reply. Ask how and by when to report changes or cancellation, and nominate one contact person to keep the information consistent.
When fitting dinner around sightseeing, also check our guide to last order and closing time. Once the space and dining window are confirmed, you can give everyone a useful meeting plan instead of relying on a general opening-hours listing.
